How to get into the mindset for working at home

Everyone at some point has entertained the thought of working at home. And at the very point of getting it together at home and learning the discipline it takes is when most fail. It doesn’t have to be that way; get it together in a few easy steps.

Think you’ve read it all on this subject? You haven’t until you take and apply these steps in the order written and keep a healthy and realistic attitude about the timeline which to expect.

  • Get thinking like a winner: Your hands are shaking as you are taking on another client wondering if it’s more than you can handle. You’ve screwed up putting together your new desk, it’s backwards and you wonder if this is an omen of things to come! Relax! We’ve all been there! Get some coffee brewing and act like a business – person. Hustle, and knock on your neighbor’s door to solicit his help with the home – office project, then congratulate yourself you’ve just delegated your first project successfully.
  • Get all the supplies you need and save every receipt: Hey I won’t encourage any tax evasion however, save every receipt you have and get an accountant just for your taxes the on-line tax thing is over! You are a business and you need to squeeze every dime in the first three years as you can. And did you hear that! You are a business, wow aren’t you excited? I am for you and I don’t even know you!
  • Schedule your time like a pro: It’s not that you are too good for your friends; it’s that you are successful and you have to schedule everything as if you were a rock star baby! Now let’s not develop a cocky attitude, and you still need friends, but you will need to politely decline or re- schedule your shoe shopping or bar hopping with the girls or your boys for a client. And when you don’t have work for a client to work on; you guessed it you work on attracting more!

No I’m no fun -killer but by the end of this line you will start to feel the desire to get it together for success!
